Launch of the FREEFLOW Lab

January 2025 marks the launch of the Free Flow Lab at the University of Vigo, in Galicia (Spain). This new research group, dedicated to studying river connectivity and fragmentation, is led by Carlos García de Leániz—who previously led the AMBER project (2020)—and Paloma Morán, a professor of genetics at the university’s Faculty of Biology.

With support from the FREEFLOW project, funded by the Spanish ATRAE program, the lab has welcomed postdoctoral researcher Amaia Angulo Rodeles, who specialized in river connectivity indices during her PhD, along with PhD students Alba Franco and Gabriel Tedone
