Last Thursday, Carlos García de Leániz participated in a webinar on governance challenges for river restoration where he exposed key questions that need to be answered for effectively restoration of free-flowing rivers. This webinar (in Spanish) was organized by Cortecero Vive, a project aimed at restoring the connectivity of the river Cortecero, in Manzanares el Real (Madrid, Spain).

The webinar touched on the coordination between different administrative and territorial levels in river restoration projects, with a particular focus on the challenges posed by such coordination, as well as the strategies and benefits that can arise from collaboration among the various stakeholders involved. These include public administrations, universities, foundations, companies, ecological organizations, and local communities.
