Looking for an internship?

We are always open to host students for internships. With us you can learn and perfect practical day-to-day skills relevant in stream ecology and river restoration:

  • electrofishing for assessing freshwater fish community
  • macroinvertebrate community sampling
  • stream hidrogeomorphology assessment
  • barrier measurement and impact assessments
  • remote sensing of barriers via GIS
  • barrier mapping across large watersheds

Maria (or Mariale) is helping us inmensly with both GIS and field work. She has been working on updating the database of barriers in germany, including lateral barriers. She is doing her bachelor’s thesis on identifying lateral barriers remotely with Arif Jan.
