Gabriela is researching how farmed brown trouts (Salmo trutta) differ to wild ones, in terms of their response to stress and swimming and leaping ability.

Raúl Díaz Hermida

Raúl has been working on evaluating the upstream passability of the Ximonde weir, a low head barrier in the river Ulla (Galicia, Spain), as part of his bachelor’s thesis. From analysis of recorded leaping attempts, Raúl has shown that this ~2m obstacle is practically impassable.

Daniela Fernandez Segura

Daniela has investigated the relationship between fish morphometrics and their swimming performance for her bachelor’s thesis. Her findings can be used to derive barrier passability estimates for species we know little about.
